ALBERT MARSON COURT
The redevelopment of the former Albert Marson Court in Scunthorpe marked a significant turning point for the area, requiring considerable intervention and investment to revitalise the community. In collaboration with North Lincolnshire Council, BSB Architecture and the client engaged extensively with local residents, forging a path forward that would comprehensively transform the space with this major regeneration project. The scheme delivered 27 affordable homes, including a mix of 2, 3 and 4-bedroom properties available for affordable rent. Built using traditional construction methods, the development was designed to high environmental standards, as evidenced by its EPC rating and the achievement of Secured by Design Gold Award accreditation from Humberside Police. Key to the success of the project was the thoughtful design that eliminated cut-throughs, ensuring greater safety and a sense of ownership. Every home benefits from back-to-back rear gardens and high levels of natural surveillance, fostering a strong sense of community. The striking roadside frontage features a carefully curated palette of materials, including distinctive projecting brick headers. The development also includes off-street parking, generous private gardens, high-quality boundary treatments and biodiversity enhancements, creating a sustainable and attractive living environment. The vision, drive and collaborative effort of BSB Architecture, the client and their construction partners have made this project a catalyst for positive change in the Cottage Beck Road area, making it a truly transformational development for both the community and the wider environment.
